Wow! The kids are gone. It can leave you with so many feelings and emotions about what to do next. For some, besides their children being out of the house, nothing is really changing and it’s business as usual. But for many, it’s a time to reflect.
Some 17 million undergrads will be beginning a new school year this summer, leaving millions of parents to cope with letting go of the kids they love. For many, it isn’t easy. It may be a time to rekindle old relationships with friends, and strengthen their community ties.
Others may consider: What is my long-term strategy? Do we really need all this space with the kids gone? Should we down-size? Why not get a place on the shore?
